Dogs and Chicken - A great match!

Chicken is not only extremely popular with humans, our furry best friends also love this type of meat.

If you are looking for poultry meat for dogs, you will certainly come across chicken first. It is still the favourite among poultry varieties and the one that most often ends up in food bowls.

At Fresco, the whole chicken is used: The meat and offal are used for our Dry Raw and Wet Food, whereas chicken necks, feet and wings are gently air-dried for chewing snacks.

Chicken is not only safe to feed your dog, but it is also actually a good source of protein. Dogs need protein as the main energy source in their nutrition plan.

Chicken is therefore not only versatile, but also very digestible, making it an excellent choice for light meals. Chicken is also exceptionally low in fat, containing only about one gram of fat per 100 grams of meat. Not to be forgotten is the high protein content, which is around 20 percent, and the numerous minerals and vitamins. Chicken provides your furry friend with magnesium and potassium, B vitamins and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Chicken is still a classic when it comes to poultry meat for dogs, but turkey, duck and ostrich are just as good! All meats are extremely high in protein and - with the exception of duck - very lean. Poultry meat can be integrated into the dog's diet in many ways: Besides feeding wet and dry food, the meat can also be cooked and even fed raw.
